Yes, I am a PTA mom

I feel like I am a great mom. My kids love me and enjoy spending time with me. With that said it has been very hard to let Maddi go to school. We have had a bit of a rocky start to school but thing seem to be on the up and up. So not really to prove a point but to be more involved in Maddi's education I joined the PTA. It seems very funny to me but maybe it is just me. So last night was the first meeting for me. I was not really sure what to expect. It was really not what I expected at all. It was a business meeting with motions, seconds, and votes. It was kinda weird to be there. One reason was that no one said hi or welcome. So there I was a strange face in a room with all these who knew every one else. I sat there and listened and took it all in. At the end of the evening I walked up to someone and turned in my form and then got a hi. I so did not feel welcome. But I did make my point by being there. I made it known to the principal that I was there and I really care about my kids education. I plan on being at every meeting that I can. So if you are looking for me on the second Tuesday of every month around 6:30 I will be at the Highland Park PTA meeting.
